Born in Paris and currently based in Sweden, Trigo’s musical journey began at the age of 6 when he embarked on a rigorous study of the violin at the Paris Conservatory.
Later on, under the guidance of esteemed professors such as Didier Lockwood and Florin Niculescu, Aurélien not only mastered the intricacies of jazz violin but also earned multiple diplomas and degrees across various musical disciplines. His extensive education encompassed music theory, musicology, jazz, jazz harmony and arrangement, classical composition, and chamber music, reflecting a deep commitment to a diverse and comprehensive musical foundation.
A pivotal moment in Aurélien’s career came in 2011 when the renowned French virtuoso, Jean-Luc Ponty, recognised echoes of his own work in Aurélien’s music, noting a resemblance to his own iconic sound of the 1960s. This acknowledgment underscored Aurélien’s prowess as a jazz violinist, a role in which he professionally toured and performed with notable artists such as Christophe Lartilleux, Adrien Moignard, Samson Schmitt or Angelo Debarre, gracing prestigious stages at festivals like Festival Django Reinhardt, Montreal Jazz Festival, and Stockholm Jazz Festival.
Aurélien is not only a skilled violinist but also a multi-instrumentalist, proficient in most string instruments. His versatility extends beyond performance, as he has played an integral role in the success of various projects, most notably as a former member of Caravan Palace, a groundbreaking electro-swing ensemble that achieved Platinum status with their eponymous 2009 album
